Timothy C. Bie, owner, has 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry.  A graduate of the University of Florida College of Finance, Mr. Bie is a licensed property and casualty agent including life, health and variable annuities.  In addition, he is a registered investment principal and Florida real estate broker.

Glades Insurance Agency of America, Inc. was purchased in 1995 by Timothy C. Bie as the principal agent and owner.  The company was founded in 1990 at the same site on Cover Road and US 1 in South Stuart, Florida.  Mr. Bie bought the enterprise because of the dynamic insurance market following hurricane Andrew in 1992.  Prior to that time he flourished as an independent contractor agent for the State Farm Mutual Insurance Company doing business as the “Bie Insurance Agency” in North Palm Beach Florida from 1987 to 1994. 

Thereafter State Farm, as well as most major insurance carriers, severely limited new business and often cancelled existing policyholders.  Clearly, Mr. Bie needed new and aggressive insurance companies to service the thousands of new and existing households affected by escalating rates and limited availability of insurance.   

The Independent Insurance Agent Network provided the vehicle for Glades Insurance to grow and service customers in South Florida.   Through Glades customers have a choice of homeowners companies actively writing new business.  Automobile rates are shopped and compared among the nations leading companies.  Small businesses are made available affordable and specialized coverage so a businessman can focus on his trade rather than a frustrating maze of insurance inquiries and rejections.
